The Yangudi Rasa National Park
The Yangudi Rasa National Park in the vicinity of the Danakil depression is created to protect the Wild Ass, an endangered species and ancestor of the domestic donkey. This semi-arid grass and tree Land Park, home for 36 mammal species and that of 230 bird species measures an area of 4731 sq.kms. The park offers a major attraction for watching soemmering‘s gazelle, leopard, cheetah and warthogs in addition to the endemic wild Ass.
The park is located in Afar region in the nearby area of the famous archaeological discoveries, Lucy, and considered as an excellent site for exploring bird’s life.
