The Gambela National Park

Gambela National Park, covering an area of 5061 sq.Kms. is Semi-arid open woodland, Savannah and swamp. It lies along the course of another important River, known as the Baro.

The Park consists of several species of birds and animals. White –eard kob and the Nile Lechwe are the mammals in this park which are not found elsewhere in Ethiopia. The other common mammal species are tiang, waterbuck, bushbuck, and warthog.

Whale-headed stork is the dominant one out of 154 bird species found in the park.
