Booking

After Safari Ethiopia Tours has confirmed receiving the payment of a deposit of 30 % of the tour price, a firm booking has been made

A firm booking of other services, such as hotel accommodation, the hire of a car or an airline ticket, and arranged separately from a tour booking, has been made after Safari Ethiopia Tours has received the payment of a deposit of 30 % of the agreed price of these services.

The remaining 70% of the agreed price of a tour or of other services shall be settled 30 days before the tour begins or the booked service shall be used.

In the case of a booking made within 30 days of the departure date, a firm booking is made with Safari Ethiopia Tours when the full amount of the agreed prices has been paid and received.

If payment is not received by Safari Ethiopia Tours by the due date for payment, then Safari Ethiopia Tours is under no obligation to honour the agreed programme of the tour.

If Safari Ethiopia Tours feels that circumstances justify deviation from these  procedures, we shall confirm this to our clients in writing.

Payment

For reasons of security and efficiency Safari Ethiopia Tours prefers to receive all payments by bank transfer and made in one of the following currencies:  British Pound, Dollar US or Euro. Our bank details are:

Cancellation

Safari Ethiopia Tours accepts cancellations sent by e-mail on condition that

  •  the e-mail address used for booking is the same as the one used for cancelling this booking;
  •  the word  CANCELLATION is clearly visible in the subject bar of the e-mailed message.

Safari Ethiopia Tours confirms by e-mail the reception of such an e-mail within 24-hours.

Clients, who wish to do so, are welcome to send a recorded notice of cancellation by ordinary mail, the postal services,  addressed to Safari Ethiopia Tours, P.O. Box 21906,  1000 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Costs of cancellation:

  • Cancellation received shortly after booking but more than 48 days before departure :  All deposits are refunded. If there were any bookings made on behalf of the client with administration costs due, then these shall be deducted from the refunded monies.
  • Cancellation received between 48 days and 30 days before departure :  Deposits are not refunded.
  • Cancellation received between 21 days and 30 days before departure : Half of the tour price will be forfeited.
  • Cancellation received less than 21 days before departure date:
  • The agreed tour price will be forfeited.

 Advice

Safari Ethiopia Tours recommends strongly to all her clients to take out a comprehensive travel insurance, including cover for cancellation and repatriation, and to have a copy of the insurance policy with you on tour.

It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that one has all necessary travel documents (passports, visas, etc.) and to conform with relevant health regulations regarding vaccinations.

Liabilities

Safari Ethiopia Tours will make every effort to operate all tours as described in the relevant document but Safari Ethiopia Tours reserves the right at its discretion to modify or cancel any tour arrangement up to 59 days prior to departure. If an activity is cancelled Safari Ethiopia Tours will usually replace it with an alternative activity that is more appropriate for the conditions. Advance notice will be given of any changes where possible, although some changes may need to be made while the tour is in progress.

Tours with a focus on experiencing wildlife in their natural environment in particular involve travel in remote areas. This adds to the adventure and increases the opportunity to enjoy a true wildlife experience. However, due to terrain, weather, road conditions, and other factors beyond the control of Safari Ethiopia Tours, some elements of the tour may have to be altered. Times of some activities may need to be changed or even cancelled due to the conditions.

Safari Ethiopia Tours does not own the airlines, hotels, lodges, resorts or other transport and accommodation used in a tour, and so is not responsible for their booking policies. If the accommodation is overbooked or transport not available at the appointed time then Safari Ethiopia Tours will endeavour to find suitable alternatives.

Unless proven negligent, Safari Ethiopia Tours shall not be liable for any loss, damage, accident, delay or irregularity arising from transport, accommodation, guiding and other services carried out by third parties and arranged by Safari Ethiopia Tours as agent.

In the case of cancellation of the tour by Safari Ethiopia Tours as a result of force majeure or any other circumstances outside its control a full refund will be made of all monies paid less non-refundable pre-payments made by Safari Ethiopia Tours to third parties on behalf of and with the agreement of the client.

For example: Non-refundable pre-payments may have been made to secure flight tickets which require early payment, and to secure hotel accommodation during peak periods such as Christmas.
