Duration: 12 days
A history and ethno-cultural camping and trekking tour. While trekking on foot on the west bank of the Omo River, we visit the Meinit, the Dizi and the Surma.
Day 1: Arrive Addis Ababa, city tour of Addis. Overnight stay at Ghion hotel in Addis.
Day 2: Drive to Jimma, Sightseeing includes Jimma Museum and Aba Jifar Palace. Overnight stay at Central Jima hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Mizan Teferi, Overnight stay at Salayish hotel in Mizan.
Day 4: Drive to Tum, camping at designated campsite in Tum.
Day 5: Commence walking to Maji from Tum. Overnight stay. Camping at Dizi villages in Maji.
Day 6: Walk from Maji to Adikas, 4-5 hrs. Overnight camping.
Day 7: Trek from Adikas to Kormu, 5-6-hrs. Overnight camping.
Day 8: Trek to Kibish from Kormu. Overnight stay at camping near the riverside.
Day 9: Kibish, Camping
Day 10: Drive back to Mizan Teferi from Kibish . Overnight stay at Salayish hotel in Mizan
Day 11: Drive to Jimma admiring the rain forest part on the way via Bonga. This area, Bonga, is the origin of Coffee. Overnight stay at central Jimma hotel
Day 12: Drive to Addis via Wolisso.
NB. All the hotels mentioned in the itinerary are subject to change depending on rooms availability and requests of clients.
This tour can be re routed to Omo Valley or extended to Gambela to the west.
