Duration: 12 days
A history tour by road to Bahirdar, Gondar, Axum, Lalibela and Kombolacha.
Day 1: Upon arrival transfer to your hotel and commence city tour of Addis Ababa. Overnight stay at hotel of your own choice in Addis.
Day 2: Drive to Debere Markos. En route visit of Debre Libanos Monastery, Portuguese bridge, and the Blue Nile gorges. Over night stay at Gozamin hotel in Debere Markos.
Day 3: Drive to Bahirdar, in the afternoon boat trips on Lake Tana. Overnight stay at Tana Hotel.
Day 4: Excursion to Blue Nile Falls and city tour of Bahir Dar. Overnight stay at Tana Hotel.
Day 5: Drive to Gondar. Sightseeing of the medieval town, Gondar, its castles, the churches of Debere Berhane Selassie and Kusquam Mariam. Over night stay at Goha Hotel.
Day 6: Drive to Axum enjoying the magnificent views over the Semein Mountains and the Tekeze Valley. Overnight at Yeha hotel.
Day 7: Sightseeing of Axum including the King Ezana’s inscriptions, the Archeological museum, the church of Zion, the obelisks. Over night stay at Yeha hotel.
Day 8: Drive to Mekele via Adawa En route visit includes the ruined moon temple of Yeha, Monastery of Debre Damo, rock churches of Wukro kiros and Abreha-Atsbeha. Overnight stay at Planet hotel in Mekele.
Day 9: Drive to Lalibela via Lake Ashenge: full day drive. Overnight stay at Roha hotel.
Day 10: Visit of the 11 rock-hewn churches of Lalibela. Overnight stay at Roha Hotel.
Day 11: Drive to komobolcha via Weldia, visit of Haik Estefanos en route. Overnight stay at Sunny side hotel in Kombolacha.
Day 12: Drive to Addis Ababa then transfer to your hotel.
N.B. This itinerary can be extended to Harar via Bati by 3 days.
